Description
What kind of wine it is
Rosso di Montalcino by Le Chiuse is a red wine produced in Tuscany from Sangiovese grapes. It displays a balanced and well-structured style, crafted to offer varietal finesse and immediate drinkability. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature, followed by aging in barrel which adds a subtle spiciness to the profile. The result is a technical and clean wine, centered on the tension of the fruit, ideal for representing its territory of origin.
Where it comes from
The vineyards of Le Chiuse are located in Montalcino, one of the most renowned estates in the Tuscan region. The estate extends over 8.2 hectares of vineyards. The environmental context is deeply linked to the cultivation of the main local grape variety, a factor that fosters a well-defined texture and a clear gustatory progression. This production approach gives a distinct territorial identity, where meticulous viticulture and respect for nature work hand in hand.
How it is produced
The Sangiovese grapes are harvested exclusively by hand during the second week of October. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 29°C for eighteen days, to allow optimal extraction of color and structure from the skins. Afterwards, the wine undergoes aging and rests for six months in oak barrels from France and Slavonia. This measured wood maturation precedes bottling and preserves the aromatic definition intrinsic to the harvest.
Tasting notes
Visually, the wine shows a clear ruby red color. The nose reveals distinct, elegant aromas of violet and red fruit, enriched by a delicate spicy note reminiscent of wood aging, never overpowering the varietal character. On the palate it is balanced and full-bodied, with a regular gustatory progression leading to a finish marked by excellent persistence. The tasting profile remains consistent and clean, combining freshness and clarity with great straightforwardness.
Food pairings
It naturally pairs with flavorful roasts and braised red meats, thanks to its enveloping structure that easily supports rich dishes. It also pairs well with platters of charcuterie and various types of aged cheeses, where its fruity character and spicy note find perfect harmony with the savoriness of the foods. Its gastronomic vocation makes it a reliable companion for traditional meat-based dishes.
When to serve it
This Rosso di Montalcino is the ideal choice for convivial moments and well-structured lunches, when you are looking for a wine with solid character yet immediate appeal. The carefully balanced wood aging makes it enjoyable from the very first months, while still ensuring good flavor continuity over the years. Served at the right temperature, it expresses its balance and intensity, proving to be an ideal bottle to enhance the most flavorsome gastronomic experiences.
