Description
Lalbìra di Mandrarossa is a white wine made exclusively from Catarratto grapes, an authentic expression of the Sicilian terroir. The vineyards are planted on limestone soils at an altitude between 450 and 480 metres above sea level and with north-, west- and south-facing exposures, conditions that enhance the wine’s freshness, finesse and mineral character.
Vinification involves fermentation at a controlled temperature of 14-16°C for about 15 days. Once fermentation is complete, the wine ages in stainless steel for 6-8 months, preserving the Catarratto’s aromatic integrity and highlighting its natural freshness and mineral component.
On appearance it is straw yellow with greenish highlights. The nose is intense and fragrant, with floral notes of orange blossom and jasmine accompanied by citrus nuances of lemon and grapefruit; on the palate it is fresh, saline and harmonious, with a pleasant balance between fruit and minerality.
It pairs particularly well with seafood appetizers and grilled fish dishes.
