Description

What kind of wine it is

Negroamaro Rosato by Masseria Ficarigna is a rosé wine from Apulia, made from Negroamaro grapes grown on the Salento peninsula. Its style is fresh, balanced, and delicate, characterized by a clear fruity profile and a pleasant acidic drive. Vinification includes a cold maceration on the skins and fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, followed by a short aging in the same material to preserve the aromas and vivid taste.

Where does it come from

This wine originates from the heart of Apulia, in Salento, a region where prickly pear stands as a symbolic agricultural icon reflected in the name of the winery itself, Masseria Ficarigna. The vineyards sink their roots into calcareous-clayey soils, with excellent sun exposure and outstanding drainage capacity—ideal pedoclimatic conditions to ensure regular ripening and perfect grape health. The high brightness and the soil composition help shape a linear and smooth style based on freshness.

How it is produced

Production starts with a cold maceration phase on the skins for six to eight hours, a key step for controlled extraction of the color and delicate aromatic substances typical of Negroamaro. The alcoholic fermentation in steel then takes place at a controlled temperature between sixteen and eighteen degrees Celsius, a technique aimed at preserving the fruity aromas. The process ends with a three-month maturation in steel, which defines the wine and ensures precision and immediacy, with no wood aging.

Tasting notes

Visually, the glass reveals a pale pink color with lively reflections, a direct result of careful cellar work. The aromatic profile offers a fresh and enticing bouquet, dominated by the notes of crunchy red fruits like strawberry and raspberry, enriched by delicate floral sensations of rose and violet and a subtle hint of citrus. On the palate, it is balanced and delicate, supported by a pleasant refreshing acidity that accompanies the tasting towards a persistent finish.

Food pairings

At the table, it matches naturally and harmoniously with fish and seafood dishes while enhancing recipes with clear and measured flavors. Its characteristics also complement light appetizers and colorful grilled vegetables in a versatile gastronomic offering that provides balance. Thanks to its fresh profile and clean fruity finish, it is also an excellent choice as an aperitif, preparing the palate for courses to follow with elegance and lightness.

When to serve it

This label proves the ideal choice when you wish to offer a freshly-styled rosé—perfect for informal and carefree convivial moments. The quick maturation times point to an enjoyment aimed at appreciating its aromatic fragrance at its peak expression. It is particularly suitable for lunches featuring seafood cuisine, outdoor dinners, or simply for a pleasant by-the-glass service that calls for a harmonious blend of delicacy and persistence.
