Description
Kalura Nero d’Avola from Cantine Birgi is an intense red wine made from Nero d’Avola grapes grown in Sicily. This wine embodies the strength and warmth of the Sicilian terroir, with an aromatic profile that reflects the typical characteristics of the grape variety and land. Viticulture in this region benefits from Mediterranean influences, giving the wine complexity and intensity.
Winemaking follows a traditional process with temperature-controlled fermentation to best extract the aromas and structure from the grapes. Afterwards, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks, preserving the freshness of the fruit while also developing the structure characteristic of Nero d’Avola. This approach results in a balanced wine suitable for long aging.
It presents a deep ruby red color; on the nose, it reveals intense aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, with subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and enveloping, with soft tannins and a long, persistent finish that expresses harmony and complexity.
