Description

What kind of wine is it

This Toscana Bianco is a white wine made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. Crafted by the winery Vallepicciola, it stands out for a rich and elegant style. Its flavor profile is shaped by meticulous vinification in different vessels, which lends depth and precision on the palate—an ideal trait to support serious gastronomic pairings.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the Poggione vineyard, set in the rolling hills of Pievasciata, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga. This specific area of Tuscany gives Chardonnay a clear, terroir-driven expression. The environment favors balanced ripening to ensure the aromatic intensity that defines the wine’s character.

How it is made

Winemaking is divided between two different containers: part of the must ferments in concrete, while the remaining part in tonneaux. Once this process is complete, maturation takes place entirely in barriques for 12 months. This precise technical choice aims to balance freshness with structure, integrating roundness and complex flavor nuances.

Tasting notes

In the glass, the wine shows an intense straw-yellow color. The aromatic profile is marked by clear scents of apricot and peach, accompanied by lively tropical notes of pineapple and passion fruit. On the palate it reveals a rich and elegant character, supported by an enveloping texture that offers a pleasant continuity of flavor through to the finish.

What to pair it with

At the table, this white finds an ideal match with grilled swordfish, a choice that highlights the dish’s structure thanks to a soft, deep palate. Its elegance also allows it to accompany dishes enhanced with white truffle in a harmonious way, supporting the earthy aromas without ever becoming overpowering.

When to serve it

This white is an excellent fit for formal dinners or substantial courses that call for a wine with a well-defined identity. The measured balance derived from time in wood makes it particularly suitable for those who appreciate a rich yet well-judged style. It is a considered choice to elevate seafood menus or dishes with persistent flavors.
