Description

La Massa is a Tuscan red wine produced by Tenuta La Massa in Panzano in Chianti; characterized by a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Alicante Bouschet and Petit Verdot grapes. The soils are predominantly clayey with abundant presence of galestro.

Harvests and vinifications are carried out separately, following the ripening calendar of the different varieties. The best grapes are selected for spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks with indigenous yeasts for 25 days. The wine then ages for 12 months in French oak barrels.

It has a bright ruby red color and offers refined aromas of black fruits and graphite to the nose, followed by balsamic and spicy notes. On the palate the sip is intense, with a sustained acidity and ripe but lively tannins. A very pronounced savory note gives this vintage a long persistence.

This red wine pairs perfectly with red meat dishes, roasts and mature cheeses.
