Description

Masseto is excellence made wine. A legendary wine, coming from a terroir with unique vocational characteristics. Unanimously considered as one of the most prestigious wines in the world.

Obtained from a masterful interpretation of pure Merlot grapes, coming from three sub-areas of the homonymous Masseto vineyard, namely Masseto Centrale, Masseto Junior and Masseto Alto, favored by the coexistence of a mild-temperate climate and the breezes that blow in the vicinity of the marine expanse. The harvest is conducted with extreme care and attention. Soft pressing of the bunches follows and fermentation in steel tanks at a temperature of 25-28 ° C for 25 days, with maceration in contact with the skins. After the first 12 months of separate aging in barriques, the wine stays in the same containers for a further 12 months after assembly, for a total of 24 months of elevation.

Ruby red by the glass, the Masseto expresses a large and intense bouquet on the nose, with hints reminiscent of cherry and plum, accompanied by complex notes of dark chocolate and mushrooms typical of the great reds. In the mouth it assumes a structure and an elegance of relief, resulting at the same time fresh and round, with pleasant harmony and tannins.

A wine that can remain in the cellar for over 15 years, Masseto goes well with important dishes based on roasted meat and game, or even with medium-long seasoned cheeses.
