Description

Falò di Lungarotti is a new red wine made from Merlot and Sangiovese grapes in equal proportions. The name recalls the propitiatory fires lit in the fields in spring that instill joy like this wine.

The harvest takes place between the end of August and the first days of September. The two varieties are vinified separately and only Merlot undergoes a period of carbonic maceration. Assembly and final bottling follows.

It is characterized by a lively purple red color. The scent is young of strawberry and black cherry and recalls freshly picked grapes. In the mouth it is fresh and soft, with pleasant tannins.

Excellent in combination with grilled meats and legume soups. Try it with roasted chestnuts.

The label shows a detail of a fresco by Ottaviano Nelli, kept in the Convent of San Francesco in Gubbio.
