Description
What kind of wine is it
Vintage Tunina by Jermann is a white wine created from a blend of Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Ribolla Gialla and Malvasia. Selecting the finest grapes and bringing them together in a single wine builds a broad, layered profile that captures, in one glass, the characteristics of several Friulian white varieties.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the Ronco del Fortino vineyard, in a hilly area in the heart of Collio, with south-west and north-east exposures on marl and sandstone soils of Eocene origin. It is under these soil and climate conditions that Jermann has, over time, shaped the identity of this wine.
How it is made
Vintage Tunina is born from a blend of the finest grapes, harvested late—depending on the vintage—about two weeks after the harvest traditionally scheduled for the area. This delayed harvest encourages concentration in the Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Ribolla Gialla and Malvasia grapes that make up the final blend.
Tasting notes
It shows a bright straw-yellow color with golden highlights. The bouquet is intense and expansive, elegant and persistent, enriched with hints of honey and wildflowers. The palate is dry, supple and very harmonious, with notable length supported by a particularly full body.
Food pairings
It pairs well with truffle-based first courses and a wide variety of fish dishes, especially oven-baked or in sauce, and also holds its own alongside white meats.
When to serve it
Its full body and substantial structure make it suitable for a slightly warmer serving temperature than simpler whites, around 12-14°C. It also has good ageing potential, making it suitable for convivial occasions where a white is desired to accompany the entire meal.
