Description

The Hidden Syrah by K Vintners is a red wine from the Wahluke Slope, in the State of Washington, produced from Syrah grapes sourced from the Northridge Vineyard, a high-altitude site with fine sandy soils and siliceous limestone that promote minerality, concentration, and slow ripening.

The winemaking involves indigenous yeasts and whole-cluster fermentation, followed by an extended maceration on the skins and aging on the lees in French oak barrels, some of which are new, to develop depth, elegance, and complexity.

On the nose, it offers notes of blackberry, dark plum, dried rose petal, lavender, anise, aromatic herbs, crushed rock, and leather, while the palate is silky, enveloping, and mineral, with integrated tannins and a persistent finish.

It pairs well with rack of lamb, braised beef, roasted mushrooms, game, and aged cheeses.
