Going back to the roots of Damilano means tracing a combination of deeply-seated knowledge and the exclusivity of a unique terroir back to the end of the 19th century. If it is true that you can't make an unforgettable wine without the right knowledge, then another truth is that Damilano boasts crus of major importance, such as the Cannubi, Cerequio and Brunate, that are the ultimate expressions of Nebbiolo grapes.
From this basis exceptional wines are born, such as the Barolo Cannubi (94 pt RP), a mouth-filling and thick wine with great ageing potential, or the Barolo Lecinquevigne (92 pt RP), with its fantastic softness and persistence. The Barolo Brunate (92 pt JS) is another intensely dense wine, while the Barolo Cerequio (93 pt JS) has a dominating tannin depth and structure that contains hints of tobacco, tar and truffle. The Langhe Arneis (90 pt JS), a delicate wine with hints of fresh fruit, is also worth trying. In terms of pleasing the palate and superb wine-making craftsmanship, Damilano produces wines that reward wine drinkers on both fronts.
Also, try the fresh and pleasantly concentrated Nebbiolo Marghe and the delicate Langhe Arneis with hints of fresh fruit. For the pleasure of the palate and for mastery, we are faced with a choice that rewards at least twice.
