The Duluc Branaire-Ducru is produced by the Château Branaire-Ducru in Saint Julien in Bordeaux and the "second wine" of the cellar. The Château owes the first part of its name to its founder Jean-Baptiste Braneyre, who founded it in 1680, while the second part derives from Gustave Ducru, who added his surname in 1875. Château Branaire-Ducru has changed many owners, up to Patrick Maroteaux, who from the 80s began to make substantial qualitative changes to the cellar.
