G.H. Mumm
GH Mumm was born into a noble German family dating back to the 12th century. The Mumms, already wine producers in the 18th century in Cologne and in the Rhine valley, sensing the great potential of the French Champagne region and its wines, decided to open a branch in Reims in 1827. From that moment on the motto of the he company will be "only the best" as evidence of a tradition of excellence that is renewed from generation to generation.
To date, the maison owns about 218 hectares of vineyards: the Pinot Noir which occupies most of these with 78% and is located in the Montagne de Reims, the Chardonnay is grown in Cramant and Avize and the Pinot Meunier which is located in the Côte des Blancs and in the Vallée de la Marne. 160 hectares of the maison are classified as Grands Crus, located in the historic villages of Champagne such as Aÿ, Ambonnay, Verzy and Avize, testifying to a reality that has been able to insert itself in this region with strength and that for almost two centuries has been producing quality champagne recognized and appreciated, synonymous with a brand that has always been an icon of this region.
