Banfi was born from the dream of brothers John and Harry Mariani, who arrived in Montalcino in the mid-1970s and, in search of a Brunello to enrich their portfolio as esteemed and already well-established importers in the United States, founded Castello Banfi among the splendid hills of Montalcino and decided to broaden the horizons of their production across the entire Tuscan territory.
