Villa da Filicaja
Five hundred years of history, a great passion for the region with strong, noble and legendary origins dating back to the time of the revolt of Pisa, which was later reconquered by Florence under the condottiero Antonio da Filicaja.
Today, the last descendant of the family has, metaphorically speaking, opened his ancestors’ wine cellar with the "Count’s Wine Collection", a range which takes inspiration from the fourteenth Count da Filicaja, a great wine lover and collector who lived in the last century. This selection embodies a noble history and a passion for wines of the highest quality.
These include the Primitivo di Manduria Riserva (94 pt Luca Maroni), a robust full-bodied wine, with powerful tannins and a high alcohol content balanced by black and juicy fresh fruits, as well as the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (91 pt Luca Gardini), a delightful wine with intense flavours and the Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, an excellent rosé with typical notes of cherries.
