The Lugana Denomination is experiencing a golden age, especially on foreign markets and in particular on the German one, linked to the territory of Lake Garda by a consolidated tourist tradition. The area from Desenzano to Peschiera del Garda is particularly suited for viticulture, thanks to the almost Mediterranean climate, mitigated by the presence of the large Garda basin and soils consisting mainly of ancient stratifications of light clays, rich in limestone and mineral components . The main vine of the area is the Trebbiano di Lugana or turbiana, a variety that has the same DNA as the Trebbiano di Soave and Verdicchio from the Marche region, but which represents a distinct clone, cultivated in these lands for centuries. It is a grape with a good aromatic content, with high base acidity and an excellent propensity to aging with interesting evolutions towards mineral and hydrocarbon scents. Another characteristic is its extraordinary ductility, which allows to make Classic Method sparkling wines, fresh and young wines, reserves, late harvests and passito. A multifaceted and multifaceted world to be discovered in all its aspects.
