Altesino, innovation in Brunello di Montalcino

Reality of reference for the whole territory of Montalcino, Altesino represents the precursor of important innovations made to Brunello di Montalcino. With Brunello Montosoli the company first introduced the concept of Cru and was the first to experiment with the use of the barrique during the aging phase, in 1979, thus constituting an important fragment of history for the entire denomination. In full respect of tradition, the company has spent many years experimenting in the cellar, using French oak and mixing grapes of different quality. This research process has resulted in the production of innovative wines such as Rosso di Altesino , winner of important wines awards (Wine Spectator, Robert Parker).
