Barolo

Barolo DOCG is one of the most famous Italian wines in the world . It is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes in the municipalities of Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d'Alba and partly in the territory of the municipalities of Monforte d'Alba, Novello, La Morra, Verduno, Grinzane Cavour, Diano d'Alba, Cherasco and Roddi .

The denomination can be followed, on the label, by additional geographic mentions referable to highly suitable areas known in the common language as "cru". The DOCG Barolo offers a wide panorama of cru , which vary in soil, climate, exposure, altitude; just to name a few of the best known and appreciated: Cannubi, Cerequio, Lazzarito, Villero, Bricco delle Viole, Terlo, Paiagallo, Bussia, Liste, Serralunga d'Alba .

The minimum aging period of Barolo DOCG is 38 months (18 in wood) and 62 months (18 in wood) for the Riserva version. Barolo DOCG is a wine of great personality and charm, which combines power and elegance. It is a long-aging red.

As for the vintages, the criticism is unanimous in evaluating the period 2006-2013 as an uninterrupted series of excellent harvests (valued between 92 and 95 points), with 2010 among the best ever (97-98 pt.) .
