Even if in the 80s of the last century the fame of Brunello di Montalcino was not yet at its peak, the San Felice company decided to acquire Campogiovanni , the estate located on the southwestern slope of the Montalcino hill. With 20 hectares currently planted with vineyards, 14 of which are destined for the production of Brunello di Montalcino , the wine that identifies Tenuta Campogiovanni has been able to conquer a solid reputation over time, occupying a prominent place among the most representative wines of the area.

In particular, Campogiovanni's fame came to the fore in 2011, when the 2006 vintage took fourth place in the annual ranking of the 100 best wines in the world by the American magazine Wine Spectator .
