The history of Chivas dates back to the 19th century, when brothers John and James Chivas arrived in the Scottish town of Aberdeen from the countryside. The two immediately developed an interest in whiskey, experimenting in the back of the shop in which they worked. Here, the two brothers began to refine and mix the scotch whiskey that they had left to age to obtain a softer distillate that met the taste of their customers. Thus they became true pioneers of the art of blending .

Through years of continuous experimentation, the two brothers acquired more and more fame and recognition , until receiving the royal mandate in 1843 from Queen Victoria , serving her in her country residence in Balmoral. Today the Chivas Regal distillery is based in Keith in Moray county, and is a cult brand for blended whiskey lovers all over the world.
