A fascinating and particular story links the Mastrojanni winery to Montalcino. An exceptional terroir today , which however in the 70s, the period in which Gabriele Mastrojanni bought the first vineyards, appeared completely virgin and abandoned. A difficult land, tamed with dexterity by Gabriele , where Sangiovese seemed to be really at ease. Since the early years, in fact, the wines were very interesting, with a unique complexity , characteristics that led the company to achieve considerable success with its products, crossing national borders.

In 2008 Mastrojanni was purchased by the important group headed by the Illy family, very careful to keep the dynamics of work in the vineyards and in the cellar unchanged. The path continues therefore keeping the spirit of the company intact, made of humility and respect for the land , custodian of those qualities that make Matrojanni wines wonderful. A very high level range, in which Brunello , declined both with the “Vigna Loreto” cru and with the “Schiena d'Asino” , reaches important qualitative heights, where class and pleasure move in unison, to give a unforgettable sip.
