Graduated with honors in economics and commerce , he soon began to immerse himself body and soul in oenology, collaborating with Luigi Veronelli on "Ex Vinis", a magazine of which he became editor-in-chief for the first 4 issues. In 1990 he founded Lm edizioni and created the magazine The Taster of Wine. It was then in 1993 that he created the first edition of the Yearbook of the Best Italian Wines, a report on the wine production of the best Italian companies. Since 1999 he has designed and organized Sensofwine: the most important food and wine event in Italy organized by private individuals.

He is Luca Maroni, one of the most important, well-known and influential Italian critics.
