Rosso di Montalcino DOC is the fallout denomination of the famous DOCG Brunello di Montalcino . The production area is limited to the territory of the municipality of Montalcino only. The wine is produced with a particularly valuable sangiovese biotype, called sangiovese grosso or brunello.

The wines of the Rosso di Montalcino DOC denomination are therefore born in the same territory and with the same grapes of the famous Brunello di Montalcino , but differ from the older brother for a lesser structure, which makes them appreciated from a young age for their fragrant and fruity freshness .
