Montepulciano is a red grape variety, one of the most representative of Central Italy, known for its ability to produce intense, smooth wines with remarkable structure. It is mainly found in Abruzzo, where it benefits from the Mediterranean climate and the Apennine influence, which promote slow and complete ripening. The grape is notable for its naturally rich color and an aromatic profile that combines ripe fruit, light spices, and a pleasant freshness.

From this grape, mainly Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG are produced, full-bodied red wines suitable for aging. In a more immediate version, it offers young and fruity reds, while in the rosé variant it creates Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, an intense and flavorful rosé wine, particularly versatile at the table.
