In Barbados, where Original Bumbu rum is produced, rum is not just a distillate, but it is the very spirit of the island. Barbados is in fact the original rum island, where rum was created some 400 years ago. The Bajans have spent the last few centuries perfecting the art of distilling and blending the island's most famous exports.
Bumbu Original is produced in a historic Barbados distillery established in 1893 and in continuous operation for over 120 years. Bumbu Rum is distilled in two continuous stills, and the yeast used during fermentation is a distillery secret that dates back to the 1840s, when some of the original pot stills were melted down.
