It was 1855 when Austin Nichols began selling wine and spirits as a wholesale grocer, but he probably didn't imagine that the business he started would later become Wild Turkey. Founded in 1869 in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, by the Ripy brothers, Wild Turkey was born as a family distillery and, with this name, became synonymous with high-level American Whiskey. The spirits are produced from the highest quality rye and wheat, with water from the Kentucky River, following a production process that has remained unchanged for over 160 years. The whiskeys mature in the legendary "Alligator", fine American white oak with the highest degree of toasting available, where the bourbon acquires those characteristics that make it simply unique. From the Straight Rye Whiskey, with its unmistakable flavor brought by the spiciness of the rye, to the Straight Bourbon Whiskey Longbranch, aged in wooden barrels of the prized Texan Mesquite variety, Wild Turkey contains in its authentic taste the art of generations of Master Distillers who have over 160 years they have handed down recipes and secrets of a unique and unrepeatable American Whiskey.
