Description

Opera Mia is a red Taurasi wine from Tenuta Cavalier Pepe, made from Aglianico grapes grown in vineyards located in the areas of Luogosano and Sant’Angelo all’Esca, in Irpinia, at about 450 meters above sea level. The soils, of clay-limestone nature with marked volcanic components, contribute to defining the wine's structured and elegant character.

The grapes are harvested at full ripeness and carefully selected before destemming; fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures with prolonged maceration on the skins, followed by a long aging process that includes time in French oak barriques, cement vats, and finally in the bottle, to achieve complexity and harmony.

It shows an intense ruby red color with garnet highlights; on the nose, it offers a broad bouquet with notes of ripe red and woodland fruits such as black cherry and blueberry, enriched by floral, balsamic, and spicy hints of black pepper, coffee, and chocolate; on the palate, it is complex, balanced, and mineral, with fine and elegant tannins and a long, persistent finish.
