12 Year Old Demerara Rum El Dorado

Rum El Dorado 12 Year Old is made by Demerara Distillers, born in 1670 in the state of Guyana, on the banks of the Demerara River, an area recognized by experts as the cradle of highly prized rum, so much so that it is considered a category in itself. It is a blend of rums obtained from carefully selected sugar cane molasses that ages for 12 years in ex-bourbon oak barrels.

Distilled in wooden Coffey column (ex Enmore) and single Pot Still in wood (ex Versailles), it is combined with other vintage rums before being aged in ex bourbon barrels.

In the glass it has a dark amber color, with ruby reflections, and expresses sweet spicy hints of vanilla and cinnamon, notes of honey and caramel and fruity sensations of peach in syrup and mango, with some nuances of tobacco and black pepper. The taste is soft, warm and structured, very elegant in the fruity references of plum and spices, refined and decisive in a long, dry and persistent finish of toasted notes.
