Description

The name of the winery, "Basilisco", in Greek means "little King", derived in turn from Basileus, king.

It comes from Aglianico grapes and volcanic, tuffaceous and clayey soils. Its vineyards grow in Barile: here it ages for 14 - 16 months in French oak barrels

It is a surprisingly structured and powerful wine, ruby red in color with intense purple hues. It opens to the nose with a balsamic aroma and complex aromas of berries, plum, blackberry and cherry. On the palate it leaves a feeling of elegant persistence.

The organoleptic qualities of this wine make it particularly suitable for the typical dishes of Mediterranean cuisine based on tomato sauces. It goes well with second courses based on meat and game, as well as aged cheeses.
