Description
Cocchi's Alta Langa Extra Brut is a cuvée born from the blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, grown in the same vineyard in Monforte d’Alba. The unique terroir, characterized by calcareous and marl soils, western exposure, and high altitude, allows for the production of high-quality grapes that express a perfect balance between freshness and structure.
The vinification follows Cocchi's style, with separate pressing and fermentation for each variety in steel tanks, without the use of wood. The selection of the best fermented fractions is done without clarifying agents, ensuring the wine’s pure expression. The cuvée ages on the lees for 46 months before disgorgement, thus achieving extraordinary finesse and complexity.
In the glass it appears clear and crystalline, with an elegant straw yellow color and greenish highlights. On the nose, it offers a refined bouquet, with floral notes of hawthorn and millefeuille, followed by riper hints of broom and acacia. On the palate it stands out for its freshness and clarity, with citrus notes of lemon, grapefruit, and pomelo, accompanied by a slight chalky sapidity and hints of white pepper. The finish is long and harmonious, with nuances of Mediterranean herbs and nori seaweed.
Perfect paired with raw fish, shellfish, and soft cheeses.
