Description

What kind of wine is it

The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Collezione Pruviniano by Domìni Veneti is a structured red wine created from the traditional blend specific to this type. It comes from the Marano valley in Valpolicella, where the harvest is followed by a slow drying process in a fruit room until January. The winemaking, with prolonged maceration and aging, gives this label a soft and complex profile.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from the vineyards in the Prognol hamlet within the Domìni Veneti estate. The production area is located in the Valpolicella Classica, a region with a deep winemaking tradition. The soils where the grapes grow were known until 1177 as Pruviniano, a historic detail that firmly ties the bottled expression to its place of origin.

How it is made

The harvest takes place between September and October, after which the grapes rest in the fruit room until January. Fermentation involves a slow maceration lasting thirty days, twelve of which at low temperature—this process enables a gradual extraction. After malolactic fermentation, it matures for eighteen months in oak barrels and then rests in the bottle for six to eight months.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it displays a deep garnet red color. The bouquet is intense, with notes of cherry in spirit and dried plums, well-integrated with hints of vanilla, leather, and nutmeg. On the palate, it is rich, well-structured, and exceptionally smooth, closing with a persistent finish recalling dried fruit and toasted nuances.

Pairings

The solid backbone and enveloping sip make it ideal for enhancing braised meats and game-based dishes. It also finds a perfect balance alongside aged, flavorful cheeses. Thanks to the intensity of its bouquet and delightful taste, it stands out as an excellent meditation wine, perfect for rounding off a meal.

When to serve it

This bottle is designed to elevate important dinners and gatherings worthy of a deep, layered red. Thanks to meticulous production and wood aging, it is suited to develop further complexity over time. It's perfect to be shared in unhurried moments, where the unfolding of its aromas can be savored throughout the tasting.
