Description

Nicolas Reau's Anjou Rouge Pompois comes from the fascinating territory of Anjou, more precisely, in the municipality of Sainte-Radegonde. After a career started as a jazz and blues pianist, Nicolas took root in this suggestive corner of France, from which he extracts very pleasant wines.

Rouge Pompois is made up of 100% Cabernet Franc, from 50-year-old vineyards, planted on a soil with a silty and clayey composition. The grapes are harvested manually and fermentation starts spontaneously by the action of indigenous yeasts, first inside concrete tanks and then in wooden barrels, where it also carries out malolactic fermentation. Always in wooden barrels already used, the wine ages for about 12 months.

Ruby red, at sight. It opens in an expansive and fruity bouquet, reminiscent of blackberry, plum and ripe strawberry, with a floral background of cassis. The taste confirms the fruity trait and the freshness that marks the drink.

Perfect to accompany a cutting board of fresh cheeses.
