Apple Tree Flat Shiraz 2013 Logan
Description
The Shiraz from Logan's Apple Tree Flat line comes from vineyards located in the wine growing region of Mudgee, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.
It is produced exclusively with Syrah (Shiraz) grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand between the end of February and the beginning of March. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for 8 days. After the malolactic fermentation the wine ages for 12 months, half in French oak barrels and the remaining part in steel in order to enhance the fruity characteristics.
It is characterized by an intense ruby red color tending to garnet. The nose opens with intense aromas of red berry fruit and white pepper, enriched with pleasant notes of star anise. On the palate it is fleshy and round, with hints of plums, cinnamon and licorice.
Perfect to accompany tasty cheeses, this wine is ideal in combination with second courses of meat.
