Description
Quinta de S. Sebastião Arruda is a Portuguese red wine produced in the Lisbon region, in the municipality of Arruda dos Vinhos, an area distinguished by predominantly hilly vineyards. The territory benefits from a Mediterranean climate with strong Atlantic influence, which helps maintain balance and freshness in the grapes. The clay-limestone soils foster the wine's structure and complexity. It is made from a blend of two typical Portuguese varieties, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz, which together express elegance and territorial character.
Vinification follows a classic approach aimed at enhancing structure and aromatic intensity. After alcoholic fermentation, the must remains in contact with the skins during an extended maceration to facilitate the extraction of color, tannins, and aromas. Part of the wine then ages for about nine months in second- and third-passage French oak barrels, which enrich the aromatic profile and bring greater harmony.
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red color. The aromatic profile is youthful and expressive, with notes of ripe fruit accompanied by subtle toasted nuances. On the palate, it is soft and balanced, with an elegant structure and a pleasantly easy drinkability that leads to a harmonious finish.
It pairs perfectly with meat dishes, game, cured meats, and aged cheeses.
