Description
What kind of wine it is
Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà by Produttori del Barbaresco is a red wine made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. It shows complexity and depth, with intense, ripe red fruit, balanced tannins, and a persistent finish. The body is generous and enveloping, and the style is elegant.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the cru Rabajà, one of Barbaresco’s best-known geographical mentions. The vineyard covers 3.7 hectares with a southwest exposure and clay-limestone soils with sandy streaks. The wine is the result of the work of the cooperative winery founded in the post–World War II period by small local owners, who bring their grapes under a single label. The result expresses the complexity and elegance typical of this vineyard.
How it is made
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature, with 28 days of maceration on the skins, and malolactic fermentation completes regularly. The wine then ages for 30 months in oak and rests a further 9 months in bottle. This path, typical of a Riserva, brings it to market already harmonious and with good potential for evolution.
Tasting notes
The aromatic profile is intense, with fragrant red fruit, ripe and perfumed. On the palate it is complex and elegant, with a generous, enveloping body and well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and persistent, confirming the wine’s structure.
Food pairing
It pairs well with pasta and risotto, white and red meats, and game. Its structure and ripe fruit make it suitable for rich dishes and boldly flavored preparations.
When to serve it
This is a red for special-occasion meals, for tables seeking a structured, age-worthy wine. It is best to open the bottle a little in advance and serve it in a large, wide-bowled glass. It has an aging potential of up to thirty years from the vintage, and is therefore also suitable for cellaring.
