Description

Sandrone's Barbera d’Alba is a red wine made from Barbera grapes grown on the hills of the Langhe, where this variety has found ideal conditions on compact marl soils. It comes from a careful selection of vineyards located between Barolo, Monforte d’Alba, and Novello, expressing a harmonious balance of freshness, structure, and local character—making it one of the most authentic interpretations of this historic Piedmont varietal.

The winemaking process involves spontaneous fermentation with maceration in open steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in medium-sized French oak barrels. The aging continues for several months in the bottle, allowing the wine to achieve a good integration of fruitiness, structure, and wood-derived notes.

In the glass, it displays a brilliant ruby red color. The nose reveals intense aromas of red and black fruits such as raspberry, cherry, and plum, accompanied by mineral nuances, graphite, and light spicy hints. On the palate, it is smooth and elegant, with a balanced structure, delicate tannins, and a lively acidity that adds vibrancy and persistence to the finish.

It pairs perfectly with rich first courses, red meats, and traditional Piedmontese dishes.
