Description

In the heart of M.G.A. Lazzarito in Serralunga d'Alba is the "La Delizia" vineyard, a historic cru of Fontanafredda cultivated according to the principles of organic and vegan agriculture. Situated at 380 meters altitude on marly-limestone and clay soils, this south-facing plot yields a Barolo of great verticality and depth, a faithful interpreter of its terroir.

The Nebbiolo grapes are harvested from a small vineyard of about half a hectare, then de-stemmed and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wine is racked and placed in oak barrels for a period of 30 months, followed by an additional 8 months of bottle aging before commercialization.

The olfactory profile is dominated by fresh and minty notes that blend into spicy aromas, evoking the identity of the original soil. On the palate, the wine is deep and vertical, with vibrant tannins that need time to fully express themselves, offering an intense and long-lasting tasting experience.

It pairs perfectly with meat dishes from the Piedmontese tradition and aged cheeses.
