Description

What type of wine is it

Rogito by Cantine del Notaio is a rosé wine from Basilicata. It stands out for its freshness and balanced structure, with an elegant and immediate profile. The winemaking process includes a brief maceration on the skins in stainless steel at controlled temperature, followed by aging in French oak tonneaux, which adds complexity and roundness to the sip.

How it is produced

The grape harvest is carried out by hand in the first ten days of October, selecting only the best bunches. After destemming, the must remains in contact with the skins for 24-48 hours in stainless steel at controlled temperature. Fermentation is completed with natural malolactic. Aging takes place in French oak tonneaux for at least 12 months.

Tasting notes

On the eye, Rogito shows a bright deep pink color with cherry-red reflections. The nose reveals small red berries and cherry, alongside notes of dried flowers and a hint of spice. The palate is fresh and smooth, with good persistence and echoes of fruity and mineral sensations.

Food pairings

This rosé pairs well with light meat dishes such as roast beef or scaloppine in a delicate sauce, and with fish cooked with tomato such as sea bass in "acqua pazza". It matches pizza topped with tomato and mozzarella, and finds harmony with regional dishes like Lucanian-style pasta with beans.

When to serve it

Rogito expresses lively fruitiness when enjoyed young. After aging in wood, it can evolve with spicy notes and greater aromatic complexity.
