Description
This wooden box contains six pure Rieslings by Dr. Loosen from four Grosse Lage - or Grand Cru - of the estate, some of which are classified as Grosses Gewächs (GG), dry wines that more than others have distinguished themselves inside the respective vineyards of excellence.
A masculine and complex limited edition Riesling originates from the oldest parcel of the Erden Treppchen vineyard, with a marked fruit, with an intense mineral finish, a beautiful texture and harmony. From the Ürziger Würzgarten vineyard come the Auslese, rich in aromas and well structured, which is characterized by a typical sweet and exotic note that results from the combination of selected and botrytized grapes, inserted on a pleasantly spicy background, and the Alte Reben, that is, a selection of grapes from vineyards over 120 years of age, in which the spicy character becomes even more pronounced and is accompanied by an earthy tract that originates from the volcanic soils on which Riesling is grown. From the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard are a Riesling with intense floral and citrus aromas typical of the soils with a strong presence of blue slate from which they come to life, and the Spätlese version - Late Harvest - in which the sugar residue becomes more evident at the mouth and harmonizes perfectly with the minerality of the wine, giving origin to that sensation that Ernst Loosen defines as "aromatic maturity". Finally, a Riesling comes from Graacher Himmerleich's Grosse Lage which combines elegance and rusticity with intense minerality, with a remarkable aging capacity.
