Description

What style of wine is it

The Champagne Esprit Rosé de Saignée by Baron-Fuenté is a rosé wine born from the careful blending of Meunier and Pinot Noir grapes. This wine stands out for its pronounced aromatic intensity and firm structure. Extended skin maceration enriches the profile and imparts a deep color while preserving great finesse. Its enveloping style is balanced by a clearly defined, mouthwatering freshness.

Where it comes from

This Rosé Champagne comes from the Champagne region in northeastern France and is produced by Maison Baron-Fuenté, located in Charly-sur-Marne, in the Vallée de la Marne. The Esprit cuvée is made using the rosé de saignée method, that is, through a brief maceration of the skins of black grapes to naturally extract color and aromas, rather than adding red wine to a white Champagne.

How it is made

Vinification begins with a maceration of the must, a key stage that lends the wine its color and aromas. This is followed by secondary fermentation in the bottle, in accordance with the rigorous tenets of the Méthode Champenoise, which allows the characters from the second fermentation to develop. Prolonged aging on the lees enhances the structural components and complexity, shaping a sip that is consistently refined and harmonious.

Tasting notes

In the glass it shows a deep pink hue. The nose reveals a bouquet dominated by aromas of ripe red berries, redcurrant, and delicate floral nuances. On the palate the entry is rich and enveloping, supported by a solid interplay between supple fruit and vibrant acidity. The tasting closes with a long finish that faithfully echoes the initial aromatic impressions.

Food pairings

It pairs with salmon, spicy dishes and flavorful white meats, balancing their textures. The structure of the Champagne enhances French cuisine and finds excellent harmony with Magret de canard, where the intensity of the glass complements the flavors of the meat. To finish the meal, it offers seamless aromatic continuity with a red-berry tart, as it perfectly mirrors the subtle notes of redcurrant.

When to serve it

This Champagne is ideal for those moments when you seek a sip of strong character and great depth. Its versatility suggests opening it throughout the meal, as it can smoothly span the different courses right through to dessert. The sensations of fullness and the lingering flavor make it well suited to occasions designed to appreciate the slow-maturing pleasure of a profound, satisfying drink.
