Collio DOC Chardonnay 2016 Pighin
Description
Chardonnay di Pighin was born on the estate of the Friulian company in Spessa di Capriva, in the province of Gorizia, in the heart of the famous Collio area.
This wine, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, harvested in early September, is left to ferment in stainless steel containers for 20 days at controlled temperatures. The storage takes place in the cellar, always in steel, and then goes through the conservative phase in cold rooms until bottling.
Pighin's Chardonnay has a beautiful straw yellow color with clear greenish reflections. The nose is fine and subtle, with a delicate vanilla scent and light notes of exotic fruit. On the palate it shows a good structure, well accompanied by citric notes that create a bewitching harmony.
Excellent with vegetable soups and vegetarian dishes, it marries divinely with all fish-based appetizers. Good alternative for a refined aperitif.
