Description
Born as Barolo, Borgogno's No Name, and is later "downgraded" to a wine with no name by the producer Oscar Farinetti, as a sign of rebellion against excessive bureaucratic constraints.
Being born as Barolo, this red is entirely composed of Nebbiolo grapes coming from the vineyards around the town of Barolo. It ages in Slavonian oak barrels for at least 3 years and ages for at least another 2 in the bottle.
Its color oscillates between ruby and garnet red. On the nose, it expresses complexity through the spicy notes and the imprint of a fruit that goes from raspberry jam to orange peel, up to giving some traces of tamarind. An earthy undergrowth memory brings a dark touch to the bouquet. The cohesive tannic texture fits very well on a full body, with good freshness. Persistence turns on the fruit.
Excellent to accompany a braised beef.
