Description

The Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva Poggio Lombrone by Collemassari is produced at the Castello ColleMassari estate, located at the foot of Monte Amiata, in the province of Grosseto.

It is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, which are hand-picked and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in small truncated cone-shaped wooden vats with long macerations. After malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, the wine is aged in the same containers for 18 months, followed by a further 12 months of bottle aging before being released on the market.

The Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva Poggio Lombrone by Collemassari shows a deep ruby red color. On the nose, there are intense aromas of morello cherry and plum, giving way to distinct notes of sweet spices, predominantly liquorice. On the palate, it is full and rounded, with a perfect balance between tannins and freshness, and a very persistent mineral finish.

Perfect for accompanying braised red meats and stews, this wine is also ideal with game, wild meats, and aged cheeses.
