Description

What type of wine it is

Palladino’s Nebbiolo d'Alba is a dry red wine made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. It has a harmonious bouquet and an appropriately tannic palate, soft and with good body. It’s a structured red yet easy-drinking, delivering the grape’s character in a more approachable style.

Where it comes from

It is produced by the Palladino winery, founded in 1974 in Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe. The vineyard covers about 0.6 hectares, at 330 meters above sea level, with southeast exposure, on calcareous soils.

How it’s made

The Nebbiolo grapes are trained to single Guyot and harvested by hand. They are crushed and vinified in stainless steel tanks, with a temperature-controlled maceration of about 15 days. The wine then ages for 12 months in wooden casks.

Tasting notes

In the glass it shows a pale garnet red. The nose is harmonious, with notes of violet, raspberry, cherry and licorice. The palate is appropriately tannic, soft, with good body and structure, flavorful and with excellent persistence, with fine tannins.

Food pairings

It pairs well with roasts and small game. It also pairs seamlessly with pasta with ragù, grilled meats and aged cheeses.

When to serve it

It’s a red suited to convivial meals, from a first course with ragù to meat mains. A brief opening before serving highlights its floral and fruit aromas.
