Description
The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Salco from Salcheto, available exclusively on Vino.com, is made from grapes grown in the estate's oldest vineyard, from which it takes its name. The winery is located on the Salcheto estate in the municipality of Montepulciano, Siena.
It is made from Sangiovese grapes, locally known as Prugnolo Gentile, harvested exclusively by hand and slightly overripe. After red fermentation, it matures for 24 months, 30% in large casks and 70% in tonneaux. This is followed by a further 36 months aging in bottle.
Deep ruby red in color, it offers a rich bouquet of ripe red and black fruits such as cherry and black cherry, along with toasted notes. On the palate, it is warm and intense, with a long finish.
Perfect with red meat dishes, game, and mushrooms.
