Description
What kind of wine is it?
Tre di Tre by Lupo Meraviglia is a red wine from Puglia, the result of a blend of Primitivo, Aglianico, and Negroamaro. This wine stands out for its full-bodied structure and aromatic complexity, thanks to a vinification using the saignée method, which enhances the extraction of color and compounds from the skins. Several months of ageing in steel preserve the freshness and integrity of the fruit, offering a bold and characterful style.
Where does it come from?
The wine originates in Puglia, an area with a Mediterranean climate featuring hot summers and mild winters. The vineyards grow on clay-limestone soils at medium altitude, conditions that favor grape ripening and acidity retention. The area has a historic vocation for producing intense and persistent red wines, also thanks to temperature fluctuations that enhance the aromatic profile.
How is it made?
The grapes are harvested at full ripeness and hand-selected. Fermentation takes place using the saignée method, with a partial racking-off that concentrates color and tannins. Maceration lasts about two weeks at a controlled temperature. After blending, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for 3–6 months, with no time in barrels, thus preserving the purity of the fruit.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it presents an intense ruby red color with purple highlights. The nose offers ripe red fruit, cherry and plum jam, with sweet notes of cocoa and light spices. On the palate it shows a solid structure, soft and well-integrated tannins, balanced acidity, and a persistent, fruit-driven finish.
Food pairings
Tre di Tre pairs well with flavorful pasta dishes such as orecchiette with turnip greens or baked pasta, stewed or roasted red meats, and aged cheeses. Grilled meat rolls, a typical dish from Apulian cuisine, enhance the wine’s fruity concentration and tannic texture, creating a harmonious and balanced pairing.
When to serve
Thanks to its structure and pronounced acidity, this red wine is enjoyable when young and can age positively for a few years. We recommend serving at 16–18°C to highlight the balance between fruit and tannins, making it suitable for both informal occasions and more formal dinners.
