Description
A.D. 1051 is a Tuscan gin inspired by the ancient herbal practices of the Vallombrosan monks and the natural heritage of Chianti. Its character springs from the use of wild juniper alongside rosemary, sage, vine leaf and other aromatics rooted in the land, for a spirit with an authentic profile and a deep connection to Tuscany.
Juniper and the various botanicals are left to infuse in alcohol slowly and carefully, a method that recalls monastic infusions and allows aromas and essences to be drawn out gradually, preserving the identity of the raw ingredients used.
On the nose it offers scents of Tuscan scrub, accompanied by hints of a briny sea breeze. On the palate it is dry yet velvety, with a bold, balanced character and a long finish, slightly bitter, where the aromatic echoes of rosemary and vine leaf resurface.
It is ideal as a base for cocktails and refined gin and tonics, but it also lends itself to being enjoyed on the rocks or as an aperitif, allowing its aromatic character to fully emerge.
