Description

The Per Lui line represents the expression of the highest quality level of the production of native Apulian vines of Leone de Castris, which here sees the exclusive presence of Primitivo grapes. The value of this wine is such that Leone de Castris has decided to dedicate it to the memory of his father Piernicola.

The grapes are selected and collected in boxes after a natural drying on the plant. After pressing and destemming, the must ferments alcoholically for at least 20 days at a controlled temperature of 26-28 ° C. It continues with racking and malolactic fermentation, carried out in French oak barrels where the wine ages for at least 12 months.

Deep ruby red in color, it stands out for its marked fruity aromas which are perceived on the nose, with tones of plum and cooked fruit. In the mouth it reveals a surprising softness, between hints of cherry and more spicy notes of cocoa.

Perfect for pairing with red meats of all kinds, especially with game such as stewed wild boar.
