Description
Salento Primitivo Primo Nero is a wine that originates in the territory of the Sava fiefdoms.
It is produced 100% with Primitivo di Manduria grapes, a typical Italian red grape and widespread mainly in Puglia. The grapes are left to mature on the vine until the end of September-early October, harvested manually and cold macerated. The wine ferments at controlled temperature and is aged for 3 months in steel and 2 months in bottle.
It is characterized by a very deep ruby color with bright almost garnet purple reflections. The nose has aromas of licorice and hints of tobacco, intertwined with hints of nutmeg, ripe plums and blackberry jam. In the mouth it has a warm entrance, well mitigated by a pleasant acidity. It is a very full-bodied wine, with soft tannins and a captivating licorice finish.
Table wine, it goes perfectly with tasty and structured dishes, such as cold cuts, spicy cheeses, pork and meat-based first courses. Perfect with the typical Apulian orecchiete, it is also excellent as an aperitif.
