Description

Verus Vinogradi Riesling is a Slovenian white wine produced in the Ormož area, in the Štajerska region, from 100% Riesling Renano grapes. The grapes come from selected parcels in the villages of Jeruzalem, Kog, Litmerk, Strezetina, and Ivanjkovci, on hills with a base of limestone, clay, sand, and marl.

The harvest is done by hand and the winemaking involves minimal contact with air for the must, juice, and wine, thereby preserving purity and aromatic freshness. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for about three weeks at a controlled temperature between 15 and 20 °C, followed by maturation in steel.

In the glass it appears straw yellow in color. The nose reveals floral aromas accompanied by notes of peach and basil, while on the palate it shows excellent persistence, elegance, and a pleasant acidity that supports the drink.

It pairs well with freshwater fish, shellfish, delicate white meats, fresh cheeses, and spicy dishes from Asian cuisine.
